About this Role
We are looking for an experienced, hands-on Senior Software Engineer to contribute to software delivery while helping drive the practical implementation and adoption of AI across our engineering function.
Working under the technical direction of our architects, Head of Engineering and Deputy Head of Engineering, you will implement AI-powered solutions, intelligent automation and reusable engineering tools that improve productivity, quality and efficiency across the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
This is not a traditional AI research role. We are looking for someone who can turn AI capabilities into practical, production-ready engineering solutions while continuing to contribute to core software development.
Key Responsibilities
Engineering & AI Delivery
- Design, develop and maintain scalable, secure and high-quality applications using C#, .NET and modern development technologies.
- Implement AI-powered engineering solutions based on the designs, priorities and technical direction set by architects and engineering leadership.
- Carry out technical evaluations and proofs of concept of AI tools and approaches when requested, and present findings and recommendations.
- Build and extend AI agents, intelligent workflows and reusable automation across the SDLC.
- Integrate AI capabilities into development tools, repositories, CI/CD pipelines and existing engineering platforms.
- Develop AI-assisted solutions for activities such as code reviews, test generation, performance testing, test case analysis, debugging and root cause investigation.
Quality, Guardrails & Collaboration
- Identify opportunities to reduce manual engineering effort through AI and propose them to architects and engineering leadership.
- Implement the AI guardrails defined by architects and engineering leadership, including security, validation and human oversight, in line with engineering standards.
- Support Development, QA and DevOps teams in adopting the AI-assisted tools and practices you deliver, through documentation, demos and hands-on help.
What we are looking for
We want a Senior Software Engineer who is passionate about applying AI to real engineering challenges.
You should be comfortable taking an AI solution from proof of concept through to implementation, integration and rollout, working to the direction set by architects and engineering leadership, while maintaining strong software engineering standards.
The ideal candidate will be a strong software engineer first, with the ability to build and implement AI solutions that make engineering teams more productive, efficient and effective.
You have:
- Strong commercial software development experience with C#, .NET, ASP.NET Core and REST APIs.
- Solid understanding of software architecture, design patterns, automated testing and CI/CD.
- Hands-on experience implementing AI-powered solutions, automation or intelligent workflows, beyond simply using AI coding assistants.
- Experience integrating LLMs, AI APIs or AI agents into applications or development processes.
- Experience with GitHub, Azure DevOps or equivalent engineering platforms.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and technical implementation skills.
- Understanding of secure development practices and validation of AI-generated outputs.
- Knowledge of MCP, RAG, AI agent orchestration and prompt engineering.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience with Azure OpenAI, OpenAI APIs and GitHub Copilot.
- Experience with React, TypeScript, SQL Server and Azure.
- Awareness of AI evaluation and monitoring practices.
